About Me

Vivian Khanh - Full time Accountant - Part time Tax Adviser - All time Fashion Lover

The love for fashion grew at a young age due to spending hours and days at my mother's fashion boutique in LA. Every single item at the boutique was individual designed and constructed by her.  She is my heart and inspiration that has led me to want to continue what she never got to finish due to financial hardship and other circumstances.

At 13, I attended my first fashion show for YM magazine and I was truly inspired. From then to now I've attended many many fashion shows. From little boutique fashion shows to Mercedez Benz Fashion Week LA. Worked for Gen Art LA Fashion Show, LA Fashion Corner Charity Fashion Show, and 3 current shows at DTLA Fashion Week LA Spring Collection 2010 (Oliver Tolentino, The Battalion, and Elizabeth Mason (Vintage Valentino Collection). First job was in retail and been doing fashion as a hobby and love of interest.

After all these years, I never thought I'd be following my Dads footsteps as well as an journalist and editor publishing this blog.  With the strong admiration of both my parents, I hope to pursue my happiness through what I love to do...

  1. Vivian,
Great blog! Love seeing that you are doing something you LOVE! I have a boutique in Nashville, TN. I started out with purses, jewelry and tee shirts. I have attended the Americas Mart in Atlanta for 7 years now. I will be in LA (for the first time at the end of January) and would like to pick up some lines for my boutique--venturing out into more clothing. I won't have much time. I was wondering if you think San Pedro Street/Santee Alley, etc. are worth my while? I want to find clothing that is the latest trend for a 36 to 56 demographic. My customers have money and know the current trends, but I want my boutique to be one where you can "get the look" for less. I have shopped on LASHOWROOM.COM before and done pretty well. I have made a few mistakes that way though because seeing it online and then what you actually end up getting can be somewhat misleading. Anyway, any help/advice you can give me would be awesome and truly appreciated. If you search Retail Therapy on facebook, there are lots of pictures of the style of items I carry. My Retail Therapy is the one that has a yellow logo with a shopping bag that has cheetah print on it. Thank you for taking the time to read this! Michelle
